City of La Verne Revamps its Summer Concerts in the Park Program for August!
July 1, 2021
LA VERNE, CA – The La Verne Heritage Foundation and the City of La Verne are proud to announce that they are bringing back its FREE Summer Concerts in the Park series on Sundays beginning on August 1. The community is invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their appetite to listen to some music, eat some tasty treats, and relax under the stars in the warm summer air. The concerts will be held at Heritage Park (5001 Via De Mansion) beginning at 6:30 PM.
“After more than a year of social distancing, we are thrilled to be able to safely host our beloved Summer Concerts in the Park series this summer,” said La Verne Community Services Manager Yvonne Duran. “Spending the warm La Verne summer nights enjoying the bands, food, and each other’s company is one of our community’s favorite summer pastimes. We’re excited to bring a little bit more normalcy and fun back to our community after the uncertainties of this past year.”
This year’s lineup will perform a range of nostalgic, upbeat tunes and features some community favorites, including:
August 1: The Answer - Classic Rock
The Answer is a classic rock band formed in Southern California in 1964. In fact, all of the band members are products of Southern California. You may have seen them around La Verne because they’ve played at several previous City events and even neighboring cities’ events. They are also scheduled to play at this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks event on Sunday, July 4th. Their repertoire includes everything from the Doors, to Ricky Martin to Rod Stewart and the Beatles. Don’t miss The Answer and their Big Video/EFX Show this summer. For more information on the band, their events and band members, please visit The Answer’s website at TheAnswerToClassicRock.com.
August 15: Cold Duck - Variety
Cold Duck is another local favorite. The band was founded over five decades ago in 1969 and has played at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Magic Mountain and even at large studios such as NBC, MGM and ABC Studios. This eight-person band plays a variety of genres and songs including “What a Wonderful World'', “Jungle Boogie” and “It’s Not Unusual”. For more information on the band, please visit their website at ColdDuck.com.
Local vendors will be providing delicious food and beverages as well as fun raffle prizes! If any individual or business is interested in sponsoring a concert for the 2021 season, please call Chad Peterson from the City of La Verne Community Services Department at (909) 596-8700.
